Volunteering
From ancient Greece to the 21st Century, it is a perennial truth that volunteering is the perfect way to make a real difference.
It can't happen without YOU!
Children in Crossfire’s success is built on the goodwill of those who give their time and energy to our cause – our dedicated volunteers.
Your efforts – especially helping us to raise much needs funds – enable us to achieve so much for children in Tanzania and Ethiopia.
Without you we could not make that positive difference.
“I actually find the fundraising fun, and very humbling. I have arranged street collections and met some amazing people in the process. I did a car boot sale and made wooden Christmas logs which were sold to local shops, at a craft fair, to friends & work colleagues. “The treks are a great way to see different parts of the world and different cultures – while at the same time helping vulnerable children in Tanzania and Ethiopia. If it’s something you’ve thought about getting involved in I recommend strongly that you go for it.”

Want to get involved?
If Malcolm’s words inspire and motivate you, please get in touch. We would love to recruit you as our newest volunteer.
Here are just some ways you can help us:
We hold a number of fundraising events throughout each year. These need lots of volunteers to ensure they are professional, safe and enjoyable for all involved. The more people who get involved in an event the more successful it will be.
In addition, we organise regular street collections, door collections and bag packs – all of which need dedicated people willing to give us a few hours of their time.
We are also keen to recruit more public speaking volunteers – especially for during our annual Advent Appeal – who can share our work to large groups of potential supporters.
Organising a fundraiser of your own might seem like quite a challenge, but it can also be extremely rewarding.
There is no better feeling than seeing a project through from concept to completion – with lots of money raised in the process!
We will work with you from start to finish to ensure your event is a complete success.
We are always keen to establish new support networks, to help us promote our work in new communities. This may take up a little more of your time than occasional volunteering would, but support groups are a key part of our fundraising work and are a core component of our fundraising work.
If this is something that interests you please email our Head of Fundraising, Ronan McCay, on ronan.mccay@childrenincrossfire.org. Ronan will be delighted to work with you and help build Children in Crossfire’s base.
You don’t need to take the lead in a fundraiser to help us fundraise. By giving your time to one of our annual major campaigns, not least Advent, you will be helping us achieve major results.
Whatever way you choose to support us, the time and effort you invest for Children in Crossfire will be deeply appreciated, and you’ll know your efforts are in support of a great cause!
