Giving children the chance to choose

Sack the Snacks 2020

Children in Crossfire is asking the public to ‘make a snackrifice’ this New Year by taking part in our new fundraising campaign. Sack the Snacks challenges participants to give up their favourite treats for a few weeks and raise vital funds for some of the most vulnerable children in the world.

How many of us make resolutions every New Year, only to break them after just a few days?

Giving up the snacks, the sweets, the cakes and the treats is a lot easier if you’re raising money for a good cause. You feel inspired to see your challenge through, no matter how bad the munchies may be. Plus you’ll feel a lot healthier by the end of it.

After the excesses of Christmas we are asking people to ‘sack the snacks’ – or even the beer and wine – for January. Anyone who does will be helping some of the most vulnerable children in Tanzania and Ethiopia. We are asking each participant to raise £50.

This is enough to provide life-saving nutritious food for seven children at St Luke’s Hospital in Wolisso, Ethiopia where Children in Crossfire has been working for more than a decade now.

Signing up for Sack the Snacks is easy. Anyone who wants to take part can set up a Facebook fundraising page and just needs to join our Sack the Snacks Facebook group .

On that group we will encourage you to share your experience and support one another! We will also be sharing some of our favourite healthy swaps for all your favourite treats.

Alternatively, drop an email to and we’ll post out a sponsorship pack.

Anyone requiring more information should feel free to give us a call on 028 7126 9898 from Thursday 2 January for a chat. We are hoping this new campaign will be a terrific success and look forward to seeing once again the kindness and compassion of local people in action.
