Description

Poet and playwright DAMIAN GORMAN* is doing the Camino to help raise funds for CHILDREN IN CROSSFIRE. Along with other people, he will be accompanying his friend RICHARD MOORE, founder of Children in Crossfire, and as part of his fundraising efforts Damian will be hosting a creative writing workshop in two separate venues at the end of July.
WALK THE WALK is a two-hour workshop specially created for this venture, and is designed to encourage writers – any writer – towards his or her next level. Damian promises it will be “useful, friendly and fun”, and he welcomes interest from writers over 16 in any genre, and at any level of experience.
The first workshop will be in Liz Weir’s beautiful Ballyeamon Barn in the Glens of Antrim from 7 – 9pm on Thursday July the 25th; and the second will be the following day (Friday July the 26th), at the same time, in Aras Cholmcille, 59-61 Long Tower Street, Derry/Londonderry.
Damian’s workshops tend to fill up quickly, and places are limited. To book yours (only on one day please – it’s the same workshop) phone Children in Crossfire on 028 7126 9898. Booking is by donation, and the suggested donation is £30. All monies raised will go to support Children in Crossfire’s work in promoting a compassionate world in which any child can reach his or her potential.
* Damian Gorman’s selected poems and memoir AS IF I CARED is available from Blackstaff Press. He wrote the book and lyrics for BEYOND  BELIEF (a musical drama about John and Pat Hume, chosen by the Observer as one of the 5 best shows of 2023), and is a Fellow of the Oxford Initiative for Global Ethics and Human Rights.
