The term ‘changemaker’ refers to person who takes action towards creating a fairer, more just and sustainable world for all.

Children in Crossfire’s Public Engagement Programme focuses on working with others to raise awareness and understanding of the root causes of global poverty and inequality, so that everyone is equipped with the skills, knowledge and values to act as a compassionate and active global changemaker. We believe that by increasing people’s understanding of how International Development works, we can all work together to create a world full of compassion and equal opportunities for all.

Children in Crossfire believes that local and global changemakers act from a place of compassion and empathy, with a desire to make the world a more equitable place for everyone. Through building awareness and understanding of themes of resilience, kindness, connection and gratitude, we work to equip everyone with the skills and knowledge required to act as a compassionate changemaker.

Through combining workshops, training and educational resources, Children in Crossfire works hard to increase our public’s appetite and ability for creating positive change. In partnership with Irish Aid, we are committed to contributing towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4, target 4.7:

“By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and nonviolence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development”.
