Children in Crossfire are proud to deliver Connecting Classrooms programme by the British Council for schools in Northern Ireland. The Connecting Classrooms programme is a CPD training package for schools to help teachers build the skills that students need to participate in our ever-changing and more globalised world.
British Council has worked alongside education experts and researchers to identify 6 core skills that will unlock the potential of young people and help young people succeed in the 21st century. The 6 skills have been identified through exploration and extensive research. They include:
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
- Student Leadership and Personal Development
- Creativity and Imagination
- Digital Literacy
- Communication and Collaboration
Since starting our Connecting Classrooms journey we have engaged with teachers from all over, we’ve heard wonderful examples of how teachers are developing these skills in their classrooms and we’ve played many a game to help reflect the values of the core skills training and offer practical tools that teachers can use in the classroom.
After taking part in the CPD training, you can take your learning further by developing a professional partnership. A professional Partnership entails working with an overseas school and continuing to embed the core skills into your practice. Schools who apply for a professional partnership will be offered support and guidance and can apply for a grant of up to £3000 to travel to their overseas partner with a school leader.
We are now taking bookings for your school development days. Please contact us to find out how we can support your full teaching staff to complete the programme free of charge.
We can also work with your Shared Education partner to deliver a training tailored to meet your needs.
“Really well delivered; it helped me to make connections with other initiatives and programmes too. I can’t wait to get back and try out some activities”
