Children in Crossfire have launched their 2022 Christmas gift card range, which are on sale now at the Veritas shop on Shipquay Street in Derry.

Chief Executive Richard Moore said:

“We are delighted that Veritas are supporting our Advent fundraising campaign again this year by selling our Christmas gift cards in their Shipquay Street shop in Derry. For many years now, our friends in Veritas have been terrific advocates for our work and I want to thank them for all their support. They are helping us to make a real difference.

“Our 2022 range highlight on the work we do, with the kind support of the Derry public, in Ethiopia and Tanzania. They show children whose lives we are helping to shape for the better through our education and healthcare programmes. The happy, smiling faces featured tell the story of the positive impact being made thanks to the kindness and compassion of Veritas customers.

“Our principal focus at the minute is on raising the funds to provide safe, clean water for more than 2,000 vulnerable people in Ethiopia’s Wolisso region. Our goal is to build up to six new wells over the next three years, and funds raised through these gift cards will help us achieve that aim.

“We genuinely appreciate that times are tough here, but we also know that our supporters share our care for the world’s most vulnerable children. Hopefully Veritas shoppers will continue to show us their wonderful goodwill buy a gift card or two this Christmas – as they always have.”

Marie Browne from Veritas added:

“We are delighted to be working with Children in Crossfire again this year. The cards we have on sale tell a wonderful story of global solidarity, and it is uplifting for us to know that cards we sell will help to give vulnerable children and families access the life-saving clean water.”
