Do I need to book in advance, or can I register on the day?
We'd love you to book in advance so we can plan for the right number of monsters — and it means you can head straight to the start line without queuing. If you decide to come along on the morning, we'll do our best to take entries at registration from 10.00am, but we can't guarantee places.
How much are tickets?
Individual ticket (1 person) £7
Group of 3 £15
Group of 4 £20
Group of 5 £25
Under 2s free.
Groups of 3 or more work out at just £5 per person.
How do I choose the right tickets for my group?
Just add up how many of you are coming, then pick the tickets that fit.
- 1 person = Individual
- 2 = 2 Individual Tickets
- 3/4/5 = the matching Group ticket
- 6 = Group of 3 + Group of 3,
- 7 = Group of 4 + Group of 3,
- bigger groups = mix any group tickets that add up to your number.
Under-2s don't count towards the group total; just add a free Under 2s ticket alongside.
Do I have to wear a costume?
Costumes are encouraged, not required! It's Halloween, so dig out the witches' hats, capes, fangs and face paint — and if your little one would rather come as themselves, that's absolutely fine.
Is it a race? Do I have to run?
Not at all. This is a fun run, not a race - walk, jog or run at whatever pace suits your family. There's no timing and no pressure, just a lovely 2.5km loop through St Columb's Park.
How long is the route, and what's the surface like?
The route is 2.5km, starting and finishing at Ebrington Square, taking in St Columb's Park and back. The route follows paved park paths and is suitable for prams and buggies throughout.
It is also fully wheelchair accessible.
Can my child bring a bike or scooter?
Yes! If 2.5km sounds like a long way for small legs, kids' bikes, trikes and scooters are welcome - please make sure your little one wears a helmet, and keep an eye on them, especially around the start and finish where it's busiest.
What time should I arrive?
Registration opens at 10.00am and we start the warm up at 10.30am. Come along a little early so you have time to check in, find your spot and get warmed up.
What should we bring?
Your costume (encouraged, not required), a helmet if your child is on a bike, trike or scooter, comfortable shoes, a warm layer, and your booking confirmation.
What happens if it rains?
We go ahead rain or shine! This is Derry in October, so come prepared with a coat - costumes look even better with a bit of character.
