Derry Girls star and proud Derry girl, Saoirse-Monica Jackson is now our Schools Ambassador. We are excited to announce the launch of Saoire – Monica’s ‘Challenge 25’.

Want to get involved? Find out how!

You are invited to join Saoirse’s first Children in Crossfire challenge – Challenge 25!

Choose your activity and do it 25 times within your chosen month, its that simple! Each participant will receive a FREE TSHIRT.

Saoirse-Monica will be raising awareness of our international work among young people and helping us to raise vital funds for our programmes in Ethiopia and Tanzania. Her new role coincides with our 25th anniversary, which we will celebrate during the second half of this year and into early 2022. Schools have been central to our success over those 25 years, and Saoirse-Monica will help us rejuvenate long-time supporters as well as recruit new partners to our cause.

With all that in mind, we will be holding our first Challenge 25 event in October with Saoirse. Whether individual pupils sign up to do 25 squats/press-ups a day or to run 25 miles over the month, or classes set out to do 25 laps of your playing fields, we are sure you will have something that fits your bill. As well as raising funds, we are also doing this event because we understand the importance of health and wellbeing for children, now more than ever.

“I’ve been aware of Children in Crossfire’s support for impoverished children in African countries since I was a child myself. It’s inspiring to follow the positive impact a charity based in my hometown is making for so many vulnerable children in Tanzania and Ethiopia. Whether it is through their healthcare or education projects, we can all be proud of Children in Crossfire’s work giving children the start in life every child deserves. It is especially encouraging to see the partnership approach that focuses on empowering communities – that’s what can really deliver change in the long term.” – Saoirse-Monica Jackson
