Children in Crossfire is an Irish-based international NGO whose purpose is to respond to the rights and needs of young children caught in the crossfire of global poverty and injustice. Children in Crossfire Tanzania focuses on increasing access to quality Early Childhood Development supporting children’s developmental needs and giving them a chance to reach their fullest potential. The organization operates with a team of 16 staff members based in offices in Dar es Salaam and Dodoma. 

We work with local civil society organizations (CSOs) and Press Clubs (PCs) located in every region across mainland Tanzania. These CSOs and PCs are directly managed by our two partner organizations: the Tanzania Early Childhood Development Network (TECDEN) and the Union of Tanzania Press Clubs (UTPC) respectively, both based in Dodoma. We also work with Montessori Community of Tanzania (MCT) who support the implementation of the Dar Urban Daycare Programme, focusing on delivering quality childcare and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) services in private daycares within high-density areas of Dar.

The organization seeks the services of an independent, qualified audit firm to carry out the statutory audit for the financial year ending December 2025.

Objective

To obtain sufficient and appropriate audit evidence to enable the auditor to express an independent opinion on whether the financial statements of Children in Crossfire Tanzania:

  • Present a true and fair view in all material respects;
  • Are prepared in accordance with applicable financial reporting guidelines and standards;
  • Comply with the relevant laws and regulations of Tanzania, including NGO and financial reporting requirements; and
  • Are supported by adequate accounting records and an effective system of internal controls

Auditor Qualifications

The firm must:

  • Be registered with NBAA
  • Have proven INGO or donor-funded project audit experience
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of IFRS, IPSAS, ISAs, and Tanzanian NGO regulations
